The roots of Mancells (Marfleet) Limited date back to Norman Carter successfully setting up the business on behalf of Harrison & Whitfield in 1935.

Operating within the area around Goole, Selby and York Mancells supply a broad cross section of customers in various industries. Our Service is based on a friendly, helpful and flexible approach with customer care the primary objective of our small and dedicated workforce.

In today's competitive steel market the customer demands value, speed, efficiency and adaptability from a stockholder - this is Mancells (Marfleet) Limited, a company with new ideas but with the inherent traditions of versatility and personalised service. We currently hold stocks in excess of 3,500 tonnes and our in-house processing facilities include 5 saws and shotblasting and priming plant. This is all supported by our own fleet of vehicles.

The levels of service provided from our site are enhanced by being part of the Barrett Group of companies, which is one of the largest independent steel stockholding groups in the country.

The group consists of over 25 general steel depots along with specialist sites for Tubes, Precision Tubes, Engineering Bar and Profiling holding in excess of 80,000 tonnes of stock. With all of our sites having a cutting capability and seven of them housing shotblasting and priming plants the Barrett Group offers large stocks and high levels of service across the country.

Our new Omega Steel site specialising in the processing of structural sections represents a £6 million investment in some of the most technologically advanced machinery available today. We have also added a Jumbo Laser Tube cutting machine, which is the largest one in the country and the only one able to cut tubes over 550 mm wide and 18 m long, to the existing three laser tube machines at our specialist Tubes site.
